Learning outcomes
P06. Be able to determine and analyze the main physicochemical properties of organic compounds that are part of biological agents (proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, lipids). PR07. Be able to apply knowledge of the composition and structure of cells of various biological agents to determine optimal cultivation conditions and the potential for using the studied cells in biotechnology. PR08. Be able to isolate microorganisms of various systematic groups from natural substrates. Determine the morphological-cultural and physiological-biochemical properties of various biological agents. PR09. Be able to prepare basic nutrient media for growing various biological agents. Evaluate the growth characteristics of biological agents on media of various compositions. PR10 -14, 16, 17, 20, 22, 23.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the material of lectures and practical/seminar/laboratory classes in mandatory academic disciplines taught to students of the "Bachelor" educational level. 2. Knowledge of the basic principles of the main biological and related methods of technological development used in biotechnology. 3. Possession of basic skills in using equipment and reagents/materials for conducting technological development in the field of biotechnology. 4. Possession of basic skills in conducting analytical evaluation of the results of technological development in the field of biotechnology. 5. Ability to present the obtained results of technological development in the form of presentations and reports, diagrams, balance sheets, reports; correctly conduct a scientific and technological discussion.
Course content
During technological practice, the student acquires practical skills in research laboratories, diagnostic laboratories and at enterprises of a biotechnological and pharmaceutical profile, gets acquainted with the principles and algorithms of planning and conducting technological developments in the field of biotechnology, criteria for evaluating, processing and presenting the results obtained. The structure of technological practice ensures the performance of the main professional functions of those positions for which the student can apply after obtaining the appropriate educational degree. Practical training of education seekers is carried out taking into account the competency-based approach on the bases of practice of the National Scientific Center "Institute of Biology and Medicine", in scientific institutions, at enterprises, in organizations, in higher education institutions.
