PR 23. Be able to use fundamental concepts and categories of state-building in production and social activities to justify their own worldview positions and political beliefs, taking into account the processes of social and political history of Ukraine, legal principles and ethical norms.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: 1.1main periods of development, defining events and phenomena of the world historical process; 1.2 main directions of development of biological and medical knowledge in the context of civilizational development of mankind; 1.3 the most commonly used concepts and terms in the field of historical science, biology and medicine; 1.4 main achievements of modern biology and medicine. 2. Be able to: 2.1 work with educational literature and scientific sources; 2.2 to formulate one's own view on the development of scientific knowledge in the world in the historical context; 2.3 identify and analyze the stages of development of biological and medical knowledge; 2.4 to characterize the peculiarities of the development of certain branches of biology and medicine. 3. To have basic skills of forming and substantiating independent conclusions about the personal contribution of outstanding intellectuals to the process of world scientific progress.
Course content
The discipline highlights the activities of outstanding intellectuals of the world from ancient times to the present day. Considers the main stages of the development of scientific knowledge, and determines the personal contribution of leading scientists of different times to the process of scientific progress at each of the stages. Analyzes the features of the development of individual branches of natural sciences through the prism of the achievements of prominent scientists in the relevant fields. Highlights the activities of Ukrainian scientists who have achieved significant results in science, the significance of their scientific discoveries and achievements for domestic and world science.
