Learning outcomes
PRN1. Be able to apply modern mathematical methods to solve practical problems related to the research and design of biotechnological processes. Use knowledge of physics to analyze biotechnological processes.
PRN2. Be able to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of substances of inorganic, organic and biological origin, using appropriate methods.
PRN3. Be able to calculate the composition of nutrient media, determine the features of their preparation and sterilization, and carry out quality control of raw materials and finished products based on knowledge of the physicochemical properties of organic and inorganic substances.
PRN6. Be able to determine and analyze the main physicochemical properties of organic compounds that are part of biological agents (proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, lipids).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the material of lectures and practical/seminar/laboratory classes in the mandatory academic disciplines of the program, which are taught to students of the educational level "Bachelor" in the first year.
2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics.
3. Possession of basic skills in the use of laboratory equipment and reagents for conducting experimental research/development in a certain field of biotechnology.
Course content
Internship is a mandatory educational component of the educational and professional program "Biotechnology", the purpose of which is to consolidate and deepen the theoretical knowledge obtained by the student, as well as to acquire the necessary skills and competencies for conducting experimental research/development in various branches of biotechnology and related areas.
During internship, the student gets an idea of the methodology of conducting scientific research, gets acquainted with the principles of planning and conducting experiments, methods of biological research, rules for processing and presenting scientific results, algorithms for searching scientific literature and its critical understanding. An important component of the internship is to form in the student an idea of the organization of scientific research/technological developments and biotechnological production in Ukraine and the world, including information on the areas of work of leading domestic academic institutes and enterprises of the biotechnology profile, scientific projects and developments of the National Scientific Center "Institute of Biology and Medicine", international grants, scholarships, schools, etc.
Practical training of education seekers is carried out at the National Scientific Center "Institute of Biology and Medicine", at the practice bases of the National Scientific Center "Institute of Biology and Medicine", in scientific institutions, at enterprises, and in organizations.
