Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of philosophy in general and philosophical problems of natural science in particular; basics of psychodiagnostic examination and data analysis in psychology; the foundations of national and foreign legislation in the sphere of regulating relations that arise in the process of functioning of various branches of the national economy, production and copyright sphere. 2. The ability to analyze the causes and consequences of the influence of social, economic, informational, and cultural conditions on the personality, the peculiarities of its formation and socialization. 3. Possess elementary skills to define, analyze and explain mental phenomena, identify psychological problems, and propose solutions.
Course content
The discipline is mandatory and is aimed at studying the methodological foundations of scientific knowledge, the general organization of psychological research and the foundations of intellectual property. Forms the professional thinking of a researcher who studies ideas about the methodology of scientific approaches in modern discussions, which helps to reveal scientific paradigms in psychology, the financial basis of commercialization of the results of intellectual activity, to protect intellectual property rights. The course consists of 3 substantive parts: 1) methodology of scientific research; 2) organization of psychological research; 3) rights and obligations of participants in legal relations arising from the creation, use of objects of intellectual property rights or disposal of rights to such objects.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment methods: analytical report, creative assignments, final written test.
Form of final assessment: pass/fail credit.
The pass/fail credit is awarded based on the student’s performance throughout the semester (the maximum number of points for semester work is 100) and does not require any additional assessment activities for students who have successfully completed the course requirements.
Students who have accumulated fewer than 60 points during the semester, but more than the minimum threshold of 40 points, are required to take the pass/fail credit assessment. The assessment is conducted in the form of an oral examination covering the course topics and completion of an individual creative assignment, worth 20 points in total.
Students who have accumulated fewer than the minimum threshold of 40 points during the semester are not admitted to the pass/fail credit assessment.
Grading scale: 0–59 – fail; 60–100 – pass.
