Recommended or required reading and other learning resources/tools
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The teaching process combines lectures, seminars, and independent study. Lectures provide a systematic overview of key socio-political theories, institutions, and processes using an explanatory and analytical approach. Seminars focus on the analysis of political phenomena, work with sources, discussion of current societal issues, and the development of argumentation skills. Teaching methods include analytical, problem-based, discussion-based, and case-study approaches. Independent study involves reading academic literature, preparing essays, presentations, and mini-projects, and engaging with media resources. Assessment is conducted through tests, written assignments, oral participation, and module-based and final evaluation, incorporating interactive formats such as discussions and group work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment is conducted throughout the semester in accordance with the specified types of tasks and forms of control. The final form of assessment is a pass/fail credit. The credit is awarded based on the student’s overall performance during the semester and does not involve additional assessment procedures. Students who achieve the minimum passing score of 60 points receive a “pass,” while those who score below 60 receive a “fail.” Students who do not reach the required minimum must complete the outstanding topics by submitting additional assignments, essays, or, if necessary, a written test.
