Learning outcomes
RL 1. Communicate fluently on professional matters with specialists and non-specialists in the national and foreign languages, both orally and in writing, and use these skills to facilitate effective intercultural communication.
RL 2. Work effectively with information: select the necessary information from various sources, including specialist literature and electronic databases.
RL 11. Know the principles, techniques and methods of creating spoken and written texts of various genres and styles in the national language and Spanish.
RL 14. Use the Spanish language orally and in writing, in various genres, styles and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in the everyday, social, educational, professional and academic spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
By the beginning of the fifth semester, students reach an A1–A2 level acquired from scratch in previous semesters. They possess basic skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking within everyday topics, know fundamental grammatical structures (present tense, agreement, articles, pronouns), and have a basic vocabulary for simple communication.Students should be able to understand short texts, participate in dialogues, and produce simple utterances. Readiness for independent work with learning and digital resources is essential. Additional requirements include active participation in classes, ability to work in pairs and groups, adherence to academic integrity, and development of intercultural communicative competence.
Course content
Consolidation of basic A1–A2 skills: expansion of vocabulary on everyday topics, development of listening and reading through short authentic texts. Formation of dialogic and monologic speaking skills. Study of basic grammatical structures (present and past tenses, agreement, pronouns). Development of writing (short messages, letters).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practical classes focused on developing basic language skills, interactive exercises (dialogues, role-plays), phonetic training, and work with short audio and video materials. Use of communicative and lexical-grammatical approaches, pair and group work. Independent work: exercises, online tests, preparation of short oral and written tasks.
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment is carried out in accordance with the ECTS system, which provides for a two-tier assessment of the material covered, including the assessment of practical training.
Final assessment:
The final assessment takes the form of a test:
the maximum number of marks for the test is 20; the minimum number of marks (pass mark) required to pass, which are added to the semester marks, is 12 (60% of the maximum number of marks allocated for the test). The test consists of twenty questions, each worth 1 mark.
