ПРН 8. Знати й розуміти систему мови, загальні властивості літератури як мистецтва слова, історію французької мови і літератури, і вміти застосовувати ці знання у професійній діяльності. ПРН 13. Аналізувати й інтерпретувати твори української та зарубіжної художньої літератури й усної народної творчості, визначати їхню специфіку й місце в літературному процесі Франції. ПРН 15. Здійснювати лінгвістичний, літературознавчий та спеціальний філологічний аналіз текстів різних стилів і жанрів. ПРН 16. Знати й розуміти основні поняття, теорії та концепції обраної філологічної спеціалізації, уміти застосовувати їх у професійній діяльності.

Full-time form

Demonstrate knowledge of the main characteristics of ancient and medieval literature and possess essential factual knowledge in the humanities. Be able to identify the place of each literary and artistic period within the overall development of world literature; characterize the specificity of particular cultural and artistic epochs; analyze key works within the context of an author’s oeuvre; identify and examine plots, images, and motifs; plan and evaluate one’s own work; and effectively use interactive and multimedia tools.

The course "History of Foreign Literature: French Literature of the 17th–20th" Centuries is a compulsory component for students majoring in 035 “Philology” (Romance languages, with French as the first language) at the Bachelor’s level. It is taught in the third semester (4 ECTS credits: 28 hours of lectures, 32 hours of seminars, and 60 hours of independent study; 2 hours per week). The final assessment is an exam. The course focuses on the patterns of development and artistic features of French literature from the 17th to the 20th centuries. It provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the literary process of these periods, including knowledge of movements, styles, genres, and key concepts, as well as skills in textual analysis using cultural-historical, hermeneutic, intertextual, and comparative approaches.

In-class work integrates and builds on students’ independent study of theoretical material, including oral responses, supplementary contributions, tests, maintenance of a terminology glossary, and presentations.

Lectures and seminars are conducted throughout the semester, with assessment carried out in accordance with the specified types of tasks and forms of control. Students who obtain fewer than the minimum threshold of 36 points are not admitted to the final exam. For those who do not reach the required minimum during the semester, a final semester test is administered, comprising both theoretical and practical tasks. The maximum score for additional forms of assessment may not exceed 40% of the total semester grade (24 points). The final course grade is calculated based on the points earned during the semester and the exam results, with the following distribution: 60 points (60%) for continuous assessment and 40 points (40%) for the final exam.
