Learning outcomes
LLO 3. Apply modern methodologies and technologies to successfully and effectively carry out professional activities in the field of linguistic expertise and translation, and to ensure the quality of research in the field of applied linguistics. LLO 4. Evaluate and critically analyze socially, personally, and professionally significant issues and propose solutions to them in complex and unpredictable conditions (in the linguistic analysis of strategic communications, in the process of conveying information in Ukrainian and English, which requires the application of new approaches and forecasting). LLO 10. Collect and systematize linguistic, literary, and folkloric facts; interpret and translate texts using the Ukrainian language. LLO 16. Apply specialized conceptual knowledge to solve complex tasks and problems, often under conditions of incomplete or insufficient information and conflicting requirements.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Understand the fundamentals of the definitive content of modern linguistic terminology; grasp the functional and stylistic differentiation of the modern literary language; be able to analyze mass communication in the context of extralinguistic and intralinguistic characteristics; possess basic skills in analyzing spoken and written texts across various types of communication.
Course content
The course “Media and Internet Linguistics” systematizes students' knowledge of media and internet linguistics as modern subfields of philology, their terminological framework, and key categories and concepts in the context of the development of social communication. The course examines in detail research issues in media and internet linguistics and the genre syncretism of media communication, and identifies relevant aspects of the functioning of linguistic means in the language of print and electronic media. Particular attention is paid to the prospects for the evolution of linguistic units in the media space, which determines the trends in the development of contemporary public communication.
