Learning outcomes
Apply analytical and methodological tools to justify proposals and make management decisions by various economic agents (individuals, households, enterprises, and government agencies) (PRN5).
Use professional arguments to communicate information, ideas, problems, and ways to solve them to specialists and non-specialists in the field of economic activity (PRN6).
Analyze the functioning and development of economic entities, determine functional areas, calculate relevant indicators that characterize the effectiveness of their activities (PRN10).
Use regulatory and legal acts governing professional activities (PRN18).
Use information and communication technologies to solve socio-economic problems, prepare and present analytical reports (PRN19).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the economic sphere, which are characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions, requiring the application of theories and methods of economic science; general competencies: the formation of basic knowledge of the main categories of insurance develops the ability to search for, process, and analyze information from various sources (ZK8), interpersonal skills (3K12); Professional competencies: performing laboratory work develops the ability to carry out professional activities in accordance with current regulatory and legal acts (FK2) and the ability to independently identify economic problems when analyzing specific situations and propose ways to solve them (FK12); while performing calculation tasks, students develop the ability to analyze problems and phenomena in one or more professional fields in depth, taking into account economic risks and possible socio-economic consequences (FK14).
Course content
In today's economy, insurance acts as a financial stabilizer, allowing society to compensate for losses resulting from unforeseen random events that cause damage to the state, businesses, and the population. Without the creation of insurance funds, society would be unable to cope with emerging problems and solve problems that arise in the economy. The extraordinary variety of forms and methods of insurance requires a wide range of knowledge related to a specific area of insurance, economics and finance, law, service management and marketing, as well as professional communication with people. This academic discipline highlights the essence and peculiarities of the development of the insurance market in general, reveals the processes associated with the formation of the organizational structure of an insurer, determines the specifics of managing the capital of an insurance company, the liabilities and assets of an insurer, and also reveals the essence and peculiarities of the functioning of various types of insurance.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge is assessed using a modular rating system, which takes into account two components: the student's work during the semester (maximum 75 points) and a written exam (maximum 25 points).
1. Testing (RN 1.1) (min: 6*0.6=3.6 points; max: 6*1=6 points)
2. Survey on knowledge of the categorical apparatus (RN 1.1) (min: 8*0.6=4.8 points; max: 8*1=8 points)
3. Completion and defense of laboratory work (RH 2.1, PH 2.2, PH 2.3, PH 2.4, PH 2.5, PH 2.6) (min: 6*1.6=9.6 points; max: 6*2.67=16 points)
4. Modular tests (PH 3.1) (min: 2*6=12 points; max: 2*10=20 points)
5. Checking the workbook and completed assignments for independent work by the student in the workbook (RN 3.1) (min: 1*3=3 points; max: 1*5=5 points)
6. Completion of a group analytical and research project on a selected topic (RN
3.1 - 3.4) (min: 12 points; max: 20 points)
The final assessment takes the form of a written test. The maximum score is 25 points, the passing score is 15 points.
