1. Know, understand and be able to use in practice basic concepts from the theory of physical geography, landscape ecology, and worldview sciences (P01) 2. Explain the peculiarities of the organization of geographical space depending on its physical and geographical features and landscape structure features (P03) 3. Analyze the geographical potential of the territory taking into account its landscape structure (P04) 4. Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the landscape shell and its components (P07)

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the disciplines "Fundamentals of Landscape Science", "Geomorphology", "Soil Science with the Fundamentals of Soil Geography", "Fundamentals of Biogeography", "Cartography with the Fundamentals of Topography", "Fundamentals of Geoecology", "Ukrainian and Foreign Culture", etc. 2. Know the basic principles of natural and socio-geographical sciences, in particular the properties and patterns of development of the geographical shell and its structural units (landscape complexes), the course of exogenous and endogenous processes, human influence on the natural environment and the consequences of such influence, features of the territorial distribution of the population and the economy. 3. Be able to apply scientific research methods (cartographic, observation, analysis, synthesis, comparison, typification, generalization, and systematization, etc.) when studying geographical space, establish
Course content
The course covers the concepts of the tasks, the place of historical landscape studies in the system of geographical sciences and its development, and key theoretical principles. The peculiarities of nature use in different periods of the development of society are considered on the example of Ukraine: during the Stone Age, the Eneolithic and Bronze Age, Kievan Rus, the Lithuanian-Polish and Hetmanate eras, the imperial era, and the Soviet Union.
