Learning outcomes
Writing a coursework, the student consolidates skills in applying methods of subsoil use; stages of geological and technical and economic study of subsoil; concepts of reserves and resources of minerals; classification of reserves and resources; factors that determine the industrial value of mineral deposits and calculate the number of forecast and prospective resources of the allocated area using various methods; choose parameters for calculating reserves in accordance with the chosen method of calculation and the complexity of the geological structure of the deposit; calculate reserves using the methods of geological and operational blocks, geological sections and horizon plans.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Possession of academic disciplines: Structural Geology and Geomapping", "Fundamentals of Mineralogy and Crystallography", "Higher Mathematics" or similar in content. Possess skills in working with geological sections, large-scale maps and plans, statistical data processing, spreadsheets and other data sources.
Course content
The course work is the final stage of studying the course "Fundamentals of Economic Geology and the Use of Mineral Resources" where students consolidate the skills of determining the quantitative, qualitative and cost assessment of resources and reserves of minerals, as well as other resources of the geological space. The stages and complexity of the geological study of the subsoil are studied. The global and regional features of the development of the mineral resource base and trends in the use of mineral resources are studied.

Assessment methods and criteria
The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The final assessment is carried out in the form of a differentiated assessment with a maximum score of 40 points, a cut-off score of 24 points, which includes the defense of the course work in the presented presentation of materials and an assessment of the processed material by topic - 60 points. Differentiated credit is given according to the results of the student's work, as the sum (simple or weighted) of points for systematic work throughout the entire period of writing the coursework and is mandatory.
