1. Know, understand and be able to use in practice basic concepts from the theory of physical geography, landscape ecology, and worldview sciences (P01) 2. Explain the features of the organization of geographical space depending on its physical and geographical features, landscape structure features (P03) 3. Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the landscape envelope and its components (P07) 4. Identify factors that determine the formation of landscape and biological diversity at different spatial and temporal levels (P016)

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the disciplines "Geomorphology", "Meteorology", "Hydrology and Oceanology", "Soil Science", "Biogeography", "Physical Geography of Continents and Oceans", "Natural Environment of Ukraine", "Fundamentals of Geoecology", etc. 2. Know the properties and global functions of the geographical envelope, its spatial organization, composition and structure of landscape complexes of various levels of dimensionality, the course of exogenous and endogenous processes and the consequences of such a course, the diversity of natural conditions and natural resources of the world, its individual regions.
Course content
The academic discipline "Environment of Central Europe" is dedicated to the ecological and geographical characteristics of Central Europe, in particular, the problems of rational use of natural resources, areas of environmental protection activities and monitoring of the state of the environment. The discipline is divided into two content parts and is aimed at the formation of special geographical competencies in students, in particular, the content (empirical and theoretical knowledge), operational (skills, abilities, methods of educational and cognitive activity and experience of their application to solve problems of a theoretical and practical nature) and worldview (geographical picture of the world, emotional and value attitude towards the environment and human activity in it, acquired creative activity) components.
