Course content
This academic discipline is devoted to the study of the theoretical and methodological basic principles, approaches and methods of landscape research; principles and criteria for classifying landscapes of Ukraine and physical and geographical zoning of its territory; patterns of spatial differentiation of landscapes of Ukraine; main factors of anthropogenic transformation of landscapes and their impact on the landscape structure of Ukraine. The discipline "Landscapes of Ukraine" is aimed at deepening theoretical geographical knowledge, forming special professional, social and personal competencies in students, accumulating knowledge about the possibility of critical thinking, analysis and synthesis, the ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources. Separate components of the discipline are mastering the methods of geoinformation mapping of landscapes, determining indicators of landscape diversity and the degree of anthropogenic transformation of landscapes; assessment of the impact of human activity on individual components and landscapes as a whole; formation of ideas about the legal aspects of landscape protection and landscape diversity aimed at making effective management decisions in the system of integrated environmental protection in Ukraine.
The functional block of the discipline provides for mastering such components as the ability to apply basic knowledge of natural sciences, information technologies and the use of remote sensing data in the study of landscapes, the ability to apply quantitative and qualitative methods of researching the landscape structure of Ukraine, the ability to independently analyze the consequences of anthropogenic changes in landscapes in accordance with the current environmental legislation of Ukraine and international norms for the purposes of rational nature management and environmental protection.
Special attention is paid to the analysis of modern environmental
