Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. know the key provisions of the theoretical foundations of geographical disciplines, which are taught during 1-6 semesters. In particular, those related to understanding the state of the environment. As well as special disciplines, in particular "Environmental standards and criteria for environmental quality", etc. 2. be able to apply the principles, approaches and methods of understanding the geographical organization of territories and the space of existence of modern landscapes; 3. possess the methods of geographical analysis and synthesis, basic knowledge of territory mapping, methods of statistical and mathematical analysis
Course content
Studying the discipline allows you to get knowledge of the theoretical and methodological geoecological principles of SEA and EIA and their knowledge in connection with the legislation of Ukraine in the field of assessing geoecological risks of implementing territorial development strategies and management projects. This knowledge is necessary for students to understand the state's environmental policy, take into account environmental priorities when carrying out production activities, and competently conduct ecological and expert work. Students' awareness of the basic provisions and procedures of SEA and EIA is necessary for their development as highly qualified specialists who would have a wealth of knowledge in the field of functional relationships between human economic activity and components of natural ecosystems, be able to organize environmentally safe activities of management facilities and contribute to the harmonious natural, economic and social organization of the territories of cities, united territorial communities, and regions. The sections of the discipline on the methodology of SEA and EIA provide for the study of methodological approaches to the practical implementation of geoecological assessment (analytical study of the content of the main types of pollution in soil, atmospheric air and natural reservoirs, etc.). A competent ecological and expert assessment of the ecological situation in the region (for SEA and EIA) carried out on the basis of the specified theoretical and methodological approaches is a necessary condition for preventing the adverse impact of anthropogenic activity on the state of the environment and human health. It is also a prerequisite for economic response to environmental risks and situations.
