Learning outcomes
Know: sources of geological and geophysical information for solving problems in petroleum geology; principles and sequence of analysis and processing of geological and geophysical data; basic provisions of the Ukrainian Subsurface Code, regulatory documents, and industry standards; methods of conducting geophysical surveys, as well as safety rules in the industry; desk and preliminary mathematical processing of field geophysical materials and preparation of reporting documentation. Perform preliminary analysis and processing of geological and geophysical data. Conduct your own research in the direction of the chosen topic of the qualification work. Be able to organize team development for the effective solution of the task at hand.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of geophysical research methods, petrophysics, gravimetry, magnetometry, electrometry, seismometry, nuclear geophysics, geophysical well logging, and the ability to design and conduct independent laboratory and field geophysical studies, as well as primary processing of field geophysical data.
Course content
The internship in the specialized block “Geophysics” includes the following features independent work of the applicant at an enterprise or scientific organization/institution, additional collection of geological and geophysical data, their initial processing and generalization of information; conducting independent research for further use in preparing a practical training report, its defense, and writing a bachelor's thesis. Approaches to forming the topic and plan for writing a future bachelor's thesis are considered.

Assessment methods and criteria
The results of the internship are assessed by means of a presentation of the internship report at a meeting of the Department of Geophysics, based on the results of an oral examination and taking into account the conclusion of the internship supervisor regarding the applicant's work, the quality of the internship report, and the completeness of the materials collected for the subsequent writing of the bachelor's thesis. The final assessment is carried out in the form of a differentiated test (defense of the report).
