PRN02. Apply their knowledge to identify and solve problems and make informed decisions in Earth sciences. PRN06. Be able to carry out environmental assessment, audit, licensing, certification of the use of natural resources, predict the development of ecological, technological, economic and social consequences on individual natural resource management objects. PRN07. Know modern methods of researching the Earth and its geospheres and be able to apply them in production and research activities. PRN14. Identify, assess and map the water resource potential of territories, use standard methods of field and desk research of various water bodies. PRN15. Use specialized databases and specialized software to solve professional tasks.

Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of mathematical statistics, mechanics, hydrodynamics, geophysics, mathematical modeling; Possess elementary skills in hydrological and water balance calculations, statistical processing of hydrological series.

The discipline is devoted to studying the theoretical and methodological foundations of natural and anthropogenic conditions of hydrological hazard formation, the calculation and forecasting of their main characteristics, the assessment of economic and environmental damages caused by hazardous hydrological events, the evaluation of risks of their occurrence in a specific region, as well as the study of global practices in forecasting and preventing such phenomena.

Conditions for admission to the exam: the recommended minimum for admission is 36 points. For students who scored a total of less than 36 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the exam. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam in a written format. The maximum number of points during the exam is 40, the minimum number of points added to semester points is 24 (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam). The final grade in the discipline consists of points scored based on the results of the semester control of the first and second parts and the points of the final control paper.

Ukrainian
