Learning outcomes
To provide knowledge of the theory and practical application of procedures and methods of collecting and processing geospatial data to ensure the solution of monitoring, municipal management, and land cadastre tasks. To develop skills in processing relevant geospatial data in the software environment of a geographic information system.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the courses: "Fundamentals of Remote Sensing of the Earth", "Fundamentals of GIS and Databases", "Topography with Fundamentals of Geodesy", "Digital Cartography". 2. Knowledge of the theoretical and practical foundations of remote sensing of the Earth, geodesy, geographic information systems and technologies. 3. Possession of skills in working in the ArcGIS software environment.
Course content
The discipline consists of two content modules. The first module is based on the consideration of the possibility of forming a cadastral database of land plots based on the structure of a geographic information system - a combination of metric and attribute components in one geospatial database. The second module is devoted to one of the tasks of municipal management - modeling the road network in a geographic information system environment based on a vector polylinear layer of roads. The created model allows you to solve a set of problems for calculating the optimal path within a settlement, provide calculation of zones with constant parameters for their achievement from a specific point, conduct group management of a fleet of vehicles, etc.

Assessment methods and criteria
Final assessment in the form of a test (oral/written form): the maximum number of points on the test is 40 points, the minimum number of points that are added to the semester ones is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the test). Students who have scored a total of less points than the critical minimum of 20 points are not allowed to take the test. The recommended minimum for admission to the test is 36 points. A student is allowed to take the test provided that all reports for practical work provided for in the plan are submitted. For work submitted after the specified deadline, 2 points are deducted for each day of delay.
