Formation of competencies for performing research work based on the results of studying academic disciplines of a professional-oriented direction (in particular, cartography and geoinformation), independent study of program material in these disciplines; preparation for defense and defense of the main provisions of the conducted research.

Full-time form

Successful study of academic disciplines of a professional-oriented direction (in particular, cartography and geoinformation).

A 3rd year coursework is a creative independent work of a student in a specific discipline or a number of disciplines of cartographic and geoinformational direction, which were studied in the 2nd year and are studied throughout the 3rd year.

The approximate order of the defense is as follows: - a student's report on the topic outlining the main provisions of the work; - answers to questions; - a speech by the supervisor and the official reviewer (feedback is submitted in writing on the eve of the defense); - a speech by members of the department's commission, present employees and students; - a closing statement by the student, in which he responds to the speech of the reviewer and other persons, motivating his agreement or disagreement with the critical remarks made.

The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of the defense of the provisions of the completed course work. The specific weight of learning outcomes in the final assessment, provided that they are mastered at the appropriate level, is as follows: knowledge (1.1–1.4 – 30 points); skills (2.1–2.4 – 20 points); communication (3.1 – 40 points); autonomy and responsibility (4.1 – 10 points). Course work is assessed on a four-point national scale, which corresponds to the 100-point scale and the ECTS assessment at a closed meeting of the commission. In general, the assessment is based on the “Regulations on the Organization of the Educational Process at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv” (second edition), put into effect by Order No. 170-32 of April 11, 2022.
