Successful study of mandatory and professionally oriented disciplines for 1–3 years of study.
Course content
In order to form the professional competence of students, namely the ability to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practical situations, to know and understand the main tasks in the field of geodesy, cartography, geoinformatics, etc., special attention is paid to the choice of bases for industrial practice. The main enterprises and organizations are those with which the Department of Geodesy and Cartography, the Faculty of Geography cooperates. Bases of practices, according to the profile of students' training, can be state and private enterprises, organizations and international firms that perform work in the field of cartography, geographic information systems, remote sensing of the Earth, geodesy, etc., with which long-term or temporary contracts have been concluded.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The assessment is based on a 100-point scale (each student receives a certain number of points). A score of 60 to 100 is considered to be a pass for this part of the practice.
Assessment methods and criteria
After verification by the practice supervisor and if the submitted documents meet the requirements, the report is submitted for defense, otherwise it is returned to the student for correction of deficiencies and revision. The defense of practice reports and the assessment are held at the department by a commission appointed by the head of the department.
