Learning outcomes
Know the classification features of GIS
Know the main functional capabilities of the multifunctional GIS MapInfo Professional.
Know the techniques of geoinformation mapping implemented in the multifunctional GIS MapInfo Professional and be able to use them in integration with the methods of cartographic representation of classical cartography.
Know the main stages of the mapping algorithm based on the multifunctional GIS MapInfo Professional.
Be able to apply the necessary GIS analysis tools in the mapping algorithm using the multifunctional GIS MapInfo Professional.
Be able to use the multivariate tools of geoinformation mapping based on the multifunctional GIS MapInfo Professional.
Use the functional capabilities of the software for interactive mapping and presentation of cartographic works
Apply a systematic approach when studying the main theoretical provisions of the course and their implementation in practice.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful study of the curriculum disciplines: “Introduction to Geoinformatics”, “Computer Graphics for Cartography and GIS”, “Fundamentals of GIS and Databases”.

The curriculum consists of the following content modules:
1. “Study of the interface of the multifunctional GIS MapInfo Professional”.
2. “Mapping algorithm based on the multifunctional GIS MapInfo Professional”.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Total volume 90 hours, including: lectures – 14 hours, practical classes – 28 hours, independent work – 46 hours, consultations – 2 hours.
Assessment methods and criteria
- current (semester) assessment (practical work (minimum score 24, maximum 40; tests (6 – 10); independent work (5 – 10));
– final (final) assessment in the form of a test (grade for theoretical knowledge (minimum 12, maximum 20 points); grade for the practical part (13 – 20).
For students who scored a total of fewer points than the critical-calculated minimum – 35 points, in order to be admitted to the final control form, it is mandatory to pass an additionally completed individual complex task.
