PLO 9. Collect, evaluate, interpret and use geospatial data, metadata on objects of natural and man-made origin, apply statistical methods of their analysis to solve specialized tasks in the field of geodesy and land management. PLO 12. Develop documentation on land management, cadastral documentation and documentation on land valuation using computer technologies, geographic information systems and digital photogrammetry, fill the state land, urban planning and other cadastres with data. PLO 13. Plan and carry out geodetic, topographic and cadastral surveys, process the results obtained in geographic information systems.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the theoretical and practical foundations of geoinformatics.
2. To have the skills to work in the software environment of a geographic information system.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to familiarize with the methods of modeling and GIS analysis of spatial objects within the influence of municipal entities to predict their development and form a basis for supporting management decision-making in this area. The discipline is devoted to modeling an urbanized area and analyzing the created models using the tools of a geographic information system. The process of creating a working environment for working out the concepts of municipal management, understanding and tracking the development of existing working (emergency) situations, monitoring the implementation of given orders and instructions, and predicting possible situational states is considered. As a theoretical basis for such forecasting, a whole complex of classical GIS analysis operations is considered: measurement; spatial selection; automated classification; overlay operations; neighborhood functions; connectivity, etc. To develop practical skills, a set of tasks in the geographic information system environment to determine the density of urban development and noise pollution of an urbanized area is formed.

Assessment methods and criteria
Final assessment in the form of a modular test (written/oral form): the maximum number of points for it is 40 points, the minimum number of points that are added to the semester ones is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated to the modular test). Students who have scored a total of less points than the critical-calculated minimum - 20 points are not allowed to write the modular test. The recommended minimum for admission to it is 36 points. The course provides for one content-based educational module. Classes are held in the form of lectures, practical classes and independent homework. The discipline ends with a test. The condition for obtaining a positive final grade in the discipline is achieving at least 60% of the maximum possible number of points
