Learning outcomes
PLO 3. Communicate information, ideas, problems, solutions, own experience and arguments to specialists and non-specialists. PLO 14. Plan complex professional activities, develop and implement projects in the field of geodesy and land management under resource and other constraints. PLO 16. Know the theoretical foundations of geodesy, higher and engineering geodesy, topographic and thematic mapping, compilation and updating of maps, remote sensing of the Earth and photogrammetry, land management, real estate valuation and land cadastre;

Successful mastery of mandatory and elective subjects according to the curriculum of the 1st and 2nd year of training.
Course content
The program of the academic discipline consists of the following content modules:
1. Organization of scientific research in the field of cartography, geographic information systems, remote sensing of the Earth.
2. Structure and content of scientific research works, features of their implementation, design and presentation.
The purpose of the academic discipline is to give students basic knowledge of the basics of scientific research in the field of cartography, geographic information systems, remote sensing of the Earth with the acquisition of competencies in preparing abstracts, scientific reports, completing coursework, writing articles.

Assessment methods and criteria
- current (semester) assessment (practical (minimum score 24, maximum 40; tests (6 – 10); independent work (5 – 10));
– final (final) assessment in the form of a test (grade for theoretical knowledge (minimum 12, maximum 20 points); grade for the practical part (13 – 20).
For students who scored a total of fewer points than the critical calculation minimum – 35 points, in order to be admitted to the final control form, it is mandatory to pass an additionally completed individual complex task.
