Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of basic theoretical principles and practical results directly related to the course program.
2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of geodetic and land management disciplines.
3. Ability to analyze and use in practice skills of working with GIS, mapping of professional thematic areas.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with basic knowledge of the theory of land management; an overview of practical and scientifically based recommendations for ensuring sustainable (balanced) development of rural areas and planning of settlements and modeling the system of society's transition to balanced land use development; as well as familiarization with the experience of zoning land by types (subtypes) of land use, optimizing the structure of land plots and greening land use.

Assessment methods and criteria
Final assessment in the form of an exam: the maximum number of points on the exam (conducted in written format) is 40 points, the minimum number of points that are added to the semester ones is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the exam). Students who have scored less points during the semester than the critical minimum of 20 points are not allowed to take the exam. The recommended minimum for admission to the exam is 38 points. Conditions for admission to the exam: the recommended minimum for admission is 36 points. For students who scored less than 36 points in total (the recommended minimum), a mandatory condition for admission to the exam is writing essays on topics that were missed or not sufficiently mastered.
