Course content
Studying the course “Mathematical processing of geodetic measurement results and programming of geodetic tasks” sets goals for improving the theoretical and scientific training of students. The introduction into practice of modern cartographic and geodetic works of geoinformation systems and digital technologies and the availability of powerful computer technology have given a new impetus to the theoretical and practical development of this discipline, and have served for the further development of the latest digital technologies and their implementation in the field of cartography, geodesy and land management. The discipline “Mathematical processing of geodetic measurement results and programming of geodetic tasks” is used during the implementation of course and diploma research and the registration of their results in the disciplines: phototopography, engineering and higher geodesy, design and compilation of maps, technology of map publishing, GIS and databases. The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with basic knowledge of the theory and practice of mathematical processing of geodetic measurements based on the least squares method, to develop practical skills in working with a computer and basic software used in processing measurements in geodesy, cartography and land management.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: the number of points that a student receives during the semester is the sum of the points that were obtained when evaluating the completed practical work, surveying and taking tests.. Modular control works (MCR) are carried out in the form of a test. Students who received less than the minimum number of points for the MCR are retaken. Conditions for admission to the exam: the recommended minimum for admission is 36 points. For students who scored less than 36 points in total (the recommended minimum), a mandatory condition for admission to the exam is writing essays on questions of missed or insufficiently mastered topics. The final assessment in the form of an exam is carried out in a written format. The maximum number of points during the exam is 40, the minimum number of points added to the pre-semester ones is 24 (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the exam).
