Learning outcomes
PP 9. Collect, evaluate, interpret and use geospatial data, metadata on objects of natural and man-made origin, apply statistical methods of their analysis to solve specialized tasks in the field of geodesy and land management. PP 10. Select and apply tools, equipment, facilities and software necessary for remote, ground, field and office research in the field of geodesy and land management. PP 11. Organize and perform remote, ground, field and office work in the field of geodesy and land management, draw up the results of the work, prepare relevant reports. PP 12. Develop documentation on land management, cadastral documentation and documentation on land assessment using computer technologies, geoinformation systems and digital photogrammetry, fill the state land, urban planning and other cadastres with data.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basic principles of geodesy and topography (have such concepts as: scale of topographic maps, grading and nomenclature, coordinate systems, symbols and methods of depiction on topographic maps). Have modern ideas about the theory of development and improvement of methods for creating topographic maps,
2. Have basic skills in working in geographic information systems and graphic editors, in particular, be familiar with the process of creating and editing layers of digital maps.
Course content
The purpose of the workshop: to familiarize students with the basic capabilities and principles of using various applied software in the field of geodesy, land management and cartographic production; to deepen theoretical knowledge and form appropriate practical skills in the application of modern information technologies used to process cadastral information, in particular for creating digital and electronic maps. The educational workshop on information technologies in the specialty, without separation from theoretical training, is held by third-year students of the specialty "Geodesy and Land Management" with a bachelor's degree on the basis of the information and computing sector of the Faculty of Geography. The workshop lasts 60 hours according to the workload plan. The implementation of the workshop program will allow students to consolidate the knowledge gained during theoretical training and improve practical skills in working with applied software, in particular - vectorizers and geographic information systems. The practicum is managed by the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department, who ensure the implementation of all organizational activities related to the content of the practicum in accordance with the curriculum and program, review student reports, and take assessments.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the system: work during classes in the computer class, writing a report and the correctness of practical work are assessed. The form of control is differential assessment. Conditions for admission to the assessment: the recommended minimum for admission to the assessment is 36 points. For students who have scored less than 36 points in total (the recommended minimum), a mandatory condition for admission to the assessment is writing essays on topics that have been missed or insufficiently mastered.
