Learning outcomes
Learning Outcome 1. Communicate fluently on professional matters with specialists and non-specialists in the national language and foreign languages (Portuguese and English), both orally and in writing, and use these languages to facilitate effective intercultural communication.
LLO 9. Characterize dialectal and social varieties of the Portuguese and English languages, describe sociolinguistic situations
LLO 10. Know the norms of the literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities
LLO 14. Use the Portuguese language orally and in writing, across various genres, styles, and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in the everyday, social, educational, professional, and scientific spheres of life.

Successful completion of the courses “Practical Portuguese” “Introduction to Translation Studies,” “Practical Training in Written and Oral Translation (Portuguese),” “Stylistics of Language Resources (Ukrainian),” “Stylistic Analysis of Text (Ukrainian).”
Course content
The aim of this course is to further develop and refine theoretical knowledge and practical skills in Portuguese (as a first foreign language), which is an essential component of a future translator’s work.
Abstract. Portuguese language practice is the foundation for the successful training of future translators and an integral part of their professional background, without which it is impossible to master other training disciplines. This course is designed to prepare students for other required disciplines and specialized courses, and to equip future translators to address more complex issues in philology and translation across various fields, which are further developed and explored in subsequent courses.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Systematic improvement of skills and competencies in phonetics, prosody, grammar, and vocabulary of modern Portuguese and its regional variants. Development and improvement of reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills.
Assessment methods and criteria
Methods: Laboratory sessions, independent study.
Throughout the semester, during laboratory sessions on relevant topics, assessment is conducted in accordance with the types of assignments and forms of assessment described in Section 7.1 of the Course Syllabus. The course concludes with a final exam. The final semester grade is determined by the points earned by the student during the completion of the specified types and forms of learning and on the final exam.
The final grade for the educational component, which is the final form of assessment for which a passing grade is required, is determined as the sum of grades (points) for all successfully assessed learning outcomes.
- Maximum number of points on the final exam: 25 points;
Requirements for admission to the final exam:
- Students who have earned a total number of points lower than the critical minimum (45 points) are not admitted to the final exam.
