Prerequisites and co-requisites
The academic discipline requires proficiency in the French language and the ability to demonstrate acquired skills using lexical and grammatical material that was studied and mastered in previous courses according to the educational program.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to further develop students' language competencies, improve their ability to communicate freely in a foreign language within conversational topics, logically develop a topic according to the proposed video or audio plot, support a discussion; summarize and translate various types of texts into French; improve creative writing skills, produce text according to the proposed topic; improve monological and dialogical speaking skills.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides for the following forms of learning organization: practical classes conducted using interactive teaching methods and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: classroom work, answers in practical classes, presentations, module tests with open answers. Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, including theoretical training, which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and practical training, which accounts for 60% of the total grade. The semester grade is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work. The evaluation criteria are presented in the discipline's work program, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
