Learning outcomes
PLO1. Communicate freely on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in the state and foreign languages, orally and in writing, and use them to organize effective intercultural communication.
PLO10. To know the norms of the literary language and be able to apply them in practice.
PLO11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state, Vietnamese and French languages.
PLO14. To use Vietnamese and French in oral and written form, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (official, informal, neutral), to solve communicative problems in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life.
PLO17. Collect, analyze, systematize, and interpret language and speech facts and use them to solve complex tasks and problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or study.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses: "Vietnamese: Basic Level", "Vietnamese: Intermediate Level", "Vietnamese: Advanced Level" from the bachelor's degree program;
Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of Vietnamese grammar;
Advanced level of Vietnamese vocabulary;
Ability to communicate in Vietnamese on socio-cultural, everyday, and educational topics.
Course content
The academic discipline “Vietnamese Language: Functional Level” is the fourth part of the comprehensive discipline “Practical Course of Vietnamese Language”. Within the discipline, Vietnamese is taught at the phonetic, lexical and grammatical levels. At the functional level, the main attention is focused on the lexical enrichment of speech, diversification and complication of grammatical constructions. Lexical, grammatical, phraseological material is presented in a variety of thematic and stylistic presentations. The basics of professional and business communication are given. The functional level of communicative competence is implemented using an expanded arsenal of speech skills.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides for the following forms of learning organization: practical classes conducted using interactive teaching methods and individual work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: writing lexical dictations, writing essays, listening, speaking (disclosure of an oral topic), answering a practical lesson, and a test with open answers. The details of the planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the discipline's work program, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, including theoretical training, which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and practical training, which accounts for 60% of the total grade. The number of semester points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for individual work; in total: in the maximum dimension 60 points, in the minimum dimension 36 points. Final assessment: exam. The criteria for semester assessment and the criteria for exam assessment are presented in the discipline's work program published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
