Learning outcomes
PRN 5. Cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, adherents of different political views, etc. PRN 9. Characterize the dialectal and social varieties of the Persian language, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PRN 14. To use the Persian and English languages ​​in oral and written form, in various genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PRN 21. Apply knowledge of the linguistic and regional studies of Iran, the history of Ukraine's relations with the countries of the East. PRN 22. Have basic knowledge of the Arabic language.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses “Persian Language: Intermediate Level,” “Introduction to Persian Philology,” “Lexicology of the Persian Language,” and “Linguistic and Cultural Studies of Iran.” Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of linguistics from the course “Fundamentals of Linguistics.”
Course content
The aim of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the religious aspect of Persian-language communication; to examine the historical and sociological context of its development, as well as the structural and semantic features and specific functioning of relevant linguistic means in Persian-language communication, depending on the style and genre of communication. The course introduces students to the specific functioning of the religious component in the Persian-language communicative space. It examines the basic concepts of Islam and historical events in Islamic history that have influenced the formation of Persian phraseological units with a religious component, as well as other religious phenomena prevalent in Persian linguoculture. The course analyzes such components of Iranian religious behavior as ablution, charity, rules for handling the Quran, fasting, mourning ceremonies commemorating the tragic death of Imam Hussein, and the corresponding linguistic means; as well as the hadiths most widely circulated and cited in Iran. The course is part of the elective block “Iranian Studies: Linguistic Studies and Translation.” Instruction takes the form of lectures and seminars, and independent study is required. The course concludes with a final exam.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course consists of lectures and seminars, and includes independent study.
Assessment methods and criteria
The grading system is two-tiered: 40% is based on theoretical knowledge, and 60% on practical skills, communication, and independence. Oral responses and participation in discussions: up to 20 points per semester. Written assignments and tests: up to 20 points. Term paper or presentation: up to 20 points. Module exams (two): 10 points each (20 points total). Final exam: 20 points. Grading criteria: High level (90–100% of points per assignment): in-depth mastery of the material, well-reasoned arguments, independent judgment, use of additional literature. Sufficient level (70–89%): fluent command of the material, but with possible minor inaccuracies or lack of argumentation. Satisfactory level (60–69%): knowledge present but lacking depth and independence, significant inaccuracies in the work. Unsatisfactory level (less than 60%): fragmentary knowledge, lack of independence in completing tasks.
