Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before beginning their thesis, students must be familiar with the grammatical structure and vocabulary of the Persian language to the extent specified by the current curriculum, as well as the historical periods and major figures of Iranian literature, and the specifics of the theory and practice of translation from Persian.
Be able to work with educational and scientific information in the field of Iranian studies, process it, and draw generalizations and conclusions regarding linguistic, literary, and translation-related characteristics.
Possess basic skills in updating, systematizing, and deepening research; comparative analysis, description, and evaluation to formulate generalizations and substantiate conclusions.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to write and defend a bachelor’s qualifying (research) thesis – to develop research skills and establish the actual compliance of the graduate’s level of educational and qualification training with the requirements of the educational and qualification characteristics of specialty 035 "Philology" (035.067 "Oriental languages and literatures (translation inclusive), the first is Persian") under the OP "Persian language and literature and translation, English language".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Choosing a topic for a bachelor's qualification thesis and writing a detailed plan of work on it. Definition of subject, object, development of hypothesis and strategy of research. Determination of the stages and terms of the work. Selection and processing of scientific sources of Ukrainian and world scientific discourse on the subject of the bachelor's qualification work. Preparation of the approval of scientific intelligence on the topic of the qualification work at the Institute scientific conference with the participation of young scientists. Presentation of the scientific article (theses), discussion at the section and with the scientific supervisor. Assessment, consideration of shortcomings, comments, recommendations. Writing an introduction to a bachelor's thesis. Writing sections of the bachelor's qualification work, eliminating the supervisor's comments. Compilation of the list of used sources in accordance with the requirements.
Assessment methods and criteria
The grade for a bachelor’s thesis consists of three components: 1) the grade assigned by the academic advisor, who completes the academic advisor’s evaluation form in accordance with the grading criteria; 2) the grade assigned by the reviewer, who completes the review form in accordance with the grading criteria; 3) the grade for the thesis defense, which is assigned by the examination committee and recorded in the final evaluation sheet, which also contains the overall grade as the arithmetic mean of the three components (up to 100 points max.).
