Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate fluently on professional matters with specialists and non-specialists in the national language and foreign languages (Arabic and French / Persian / and English / Hindi and English), both orally and in writing, and use these languages to facilitate effective intercultural communication. PLO 5. Collaborate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, and people with different political views, etc. PLO 10. Know the norms of literary Arabic (Persian / Hindi) and French (English) and be able to apply them in practical activities PLO 18 and PLO 20. Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful completion of courses in the social sciences and humanities; 2) proficiency in basic social communication skills when interacting with members of various linguistic and ethnic groups, as well as within different teams; 3) successful completion of the courses “Eastern Language: Basic Level,” “Eastern Language: Intermediate Level,” “Fundamentals of Translation Theory,” “Fundamentals of Translation Practice,” “Stylistics of the Arabic (Persian, Hindi) Language: Translation Studies Aspect,” “Translation of Arabic (Persian, Hindi) Economic and Commercial Texts,” “Business Language and Arabic (Iranian, Indian) Business Etiquette,” etc.
Course content
The aim of the course is to develop communication skills in Arabic (Persian, Hindi) in real-life communication situations, and to apply the skills and knowledge acquired in classroom sessions to the process of written and oral translation from Arabic (Persian, Hindi) into Ukrainian for texts on scientific and technical, political, socio-economic, popular science, and business topics, as well as everyday speech; helping students master soft skills in order to acquire the ability to communicate with various social groups and develop skills for the practical application of both a broad range of knowledge from the social sciences and humanities and professional knowledge and competencies.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
There are three stages of practice: 1. Preparatory stage: orientation meetings at the Institute of Philology, acquaintance with the head of communicative and translation practice, study of regulatory documents; drawing up an individual work plan. 2. The main stage: communication with Persian speakers; written translation; abstracting and annotating texts; compiling a glossary; preparation of a written translation in accordance with established standards; keeping a practice diary. 3. Final stage: preparation of reporting materials; submission of reporting documentation to the head of the practice for verification and evaluation; defense of practice.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final evaluation of the internship (min. 60 / max. 100 points) takes place by adding up the points received by the student for all 3 stages of the internship, based on the calculation: 1st stage – 6/10 points, 2nd stage – 30/50 points (diary practices – 6/10 points, written translation of texts – 12/20 points, abstracting and annotating texts – 6/10 points, compiling a glossary – 6/10 points); 3rd stage – 24/40 points (drafting of reporting materials – 18/30 points, presentation – 6/10 points).
