Learning outcomes
PLO 8. To know and understand the structure of the language, the general characteristics of lit. as a verbal art, and the history of the Pers. lang. and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in prof. practice.
PLO 10. To know the norms of the literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities.
PLO 11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the national and foreign languages.
PLO 18. To have skills in managing complex actions or projects when solving complex problems in the prof. field activities in the field of Iran. st., as well as transl. activities, and to be responsible for making decisions in the unpredictable conditions.
PLO 20. To demonstrate basic knowledge of translation theory, basic theoretical and practical problems of translation studies in the aspect of a specific pair of languages.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses “Persian Language: Advanced Level,” “Introduction to Persian Philology,” “Fundamentals of Persian Translation Theory,” “Fundamentals of Persian Translation Practice,” and “Linguistic and Cultural Studies of Iran.”
Knowledge of the principles of rhythmic segmentation of the sound stream and grammatical phenomena; mastery of the rules for the written representation of sounds and sound combinations in the Persian language; sufficient command of lexical and phraseological material.
Course content
The aim of the course is to provide students with a general understanding of the functional and stylistic varieties of legal and diplomatic language, the linguistic and cultural factors involved in translating Persian-language legal and diplomatic texts, to familiarize them with the types of Persian-language legal and diplomatic texts and their classification, and to develop the skills and competencies necessary for performing written and oral translation from Persian into Ukrainian.
The course enables students, by building upon their prior knowledge of translation theory and honing their practical application skills, to master the mechanisms of translating Persian-language legal and diplomatic texts and to learn how to correctly select translation strategies during the translation process.
The course is part of the elective block “Iranian Studies: Linguistic Studies and Translation.” Instruction takes the form of practical classes and includes independent study. The course concludes with an exam.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment consists of two components: midterm exams (60%) and a final exam (40%). 1. Midterm assessment (max. 60 points): Oral responses (20 points): assessed based on mastery of the material, reasoning, and use of references. Written/test assignments (20 points): the correctness of test answers (100% — 10 points) and the depth of analysis in written assignments are assessed. Module tests (20 points): two tests per semester assessing theoretical and practical knowledge.2. Final assessment — Exam (max. 40 points):
A minimum of 36 points per semester is required for admission to the exam. The exam includes: Written translation of legal and diplomatic texts. Oral vocabulary test. The passing score for the exam is 24 points. Grading scale: 90–100: Excellent 75–89: Good 60–74: Satisfactory 0–59: Unsatisfactory
