Learning outcomes
PLO 1. To communicate freely on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in national and foreign languages orally and in writing, use them to organize effective intercultural communication. PLO 9. To characterize the dialectal and social varieties of the Persian languages, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 10. To know the norms of the literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities. PLO 11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the national and foreign (Persian and English) languages. PLO 14. To use Persian and English in oral and written form, in various genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral) to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) Successful completion of the courses “Persian Language: Intermediate Level,” “Fundamentals of Persian Translation Theory,” and “Fundamentals of Persian Translation Practice,” as well as basic knowledge from the course “Stylistics of the Persian Language”; 2) knowledge of linguistic terminology and the basic laws of language development (from the course “Fundamentals of Linguistics”).
Course content
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the lexical, grammatical, and stylistic features of business communication in Persian, with commonly used linguistic clichés and stock phrases in the formal business style, and with the rules for drafting personal, administrative, and commercial letters and other documentation. A linguistic and stylistic analysis of Persian-language business communication as a component of the official-business style of the Persian language is provided; specific translation techniques necessary for business communication and correspondence are outlined; and skills in drafting business documentation in Persian are developed. The course consists of two main sections. The first section focuses on the specifics of Iranian business etiquette, the rules for drafting Persian-language business correspondence, and an analysis of the lexical and grammatical features of Persian business documents. The second part focuses on familiarizing students with linguistic clichés and stock phrases in Persian-language commercial correspondence, as well as the structural and lexical-grammatical features of drafting contracts and agreements. Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment of knowledge in the course “Business Language and Iranian Business Etiquette” is based on a two-tier system: midterm assessment (60% of the final grade) and a final exam (40%). Midterm Assessment (max. 60 points) A minimum of 36 points is required to be eligible for the final exam. Oral responses: Assessed over 4 sessions (max. 20 points per semester). Criteria: completeness of presentation, reasoning, and use of literature. Written/test assignments: 4 assignments (max. 20 points). 5 points per test are awarded for 100% correct answers. Module tests: 2 tests worth 10 points each (max. 20 points). Final assessment (Exam — max. 40 points) The exam is considered passed if the student scores a minimum of 24 points. The exam consists of a theoretical question on the rules of correspondence and two written translations. Grading scale: 90–100 points: Excellent. 75–89 points: Good. 60–74 points: Satisfactory. 0–59 points: Fail.
