PLO1. To communicate freely on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in the state and foreign languages, both orally and in writing, and to employ them for organizing effective intercultural communication. PLO2. To work effectively with information: to select necessary information from various sources, including professional literature and electronic databases; to critically analyze and interpret it, as well as to organize, classify, and systematize it. PLO11. To know the principles, technologies, and techniques for creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state, Modern Greek, and English languages. PLO14. To use Modern Greek and English in oral and written forms, in various genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in different spheres of life. PLO 22.2. To perform translation of specialized texts from and into Modern Greek.

Full-time form

To have a B1 level of Greek, to master basic tactics of written translation of different styles of texts into Greek.

The purpose of the discipline is to comprehensively train neohellenists phililogists for the practical implementation of acts of intercultural communication on socially significant or topical issues based on theoretical knowledge and practical skills, primarily consecutive interpretation, abstracting and annotating materials in native and foreign languages. Part 1 "Consecutive interpretation of media texts in the field of Greek foreign and domestic policy and public affairs" allows students to develop the skills of consecutive interpretation of texts related to current topics of Greek and Cypriot foreign policy, domestic social and political issues, and to familiarize yourself with the performance of public functions. Part 2 "Consecutive interpretation of media texts on social development, culture, art, education and science" aims to master the professional aspects of intercultural communication related to a wide range of social and cultural life in Greece and Cyprus, to consider translation aspects of neologization of the language, the functioning of jargon, etc.

Response in class, essay, creative task (translation), test

The semester final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of completing the declared types and forms of study, and the points obtained at the exam, the maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam.
