The academic discipline "Second Language" in the 7th semester requires the successful mastery of the educational materials of the corresponding program for the 6th semester.
Course content
The discipline "Second Language" is a component of the educational program “Англійська філологія та дві іноземні мови (мова навчання англійська) / English Studies and Two Foreign Languages” for the training of specialists in the specialty 035 Philology (Germanic Languages ​​and Literature (translation included), English - first, Bachelor's degree. In the 7th semester, 2 credits are allocated for studying the discipline, 30 hours are practical, 30 hours are individual work of students. The discipline is aimed at deepening the language knowledge acquired by students, developing and improving the skills and abilities of oral and written German.

Form of study: practical classes. Teaching methods and educational activities:  oral and written tasks performed in practical classes and during individual work;  written tests;  essay;  presentation/report defense;  module tests.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester final grade is formed by the points received by the student during the semester and the points received at the exam - minimum 60 points, maximum 100 points, the maximum for the semester is 60 points, the minimum - 36; the exam - maximum 40 points; minimum 24. If the student scored less than 24 points at the exam (60% of the 40 points allocated for the exam), then they are not added to the semester grade, regardless of the number of points received during the semester, and "unsatisfactory" is recorded in the report card according to the national scale.
