Course content
The subject of study of the academic discipline is French as a second foreign language. The discipline forms students' speaking skills and abilities, teaches communication in French. At this stage of study, the development of students' language and speech competences continues, which is based on the principle of unity of thematic and intercultural aspects. The thematic aspect is based on the student's personal and professional experience and covers both everyday topics (typical everyday situations, family, hobbies, interests, work, travel, latest news, music, films) and country studies (socio-political, economic and cultural life, customs, rules of conduct, values and ideals characteristic of the community whose language is being studied). The intercultural aspect involves knowledge of the country's culture in a broad sense, covering all spheres of human existence. Important factors in the formation of students' speech competence are phonetic, lexical, grammatical and sociocultural components.
