Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the main periods, patterns and specific features of the world historical and cultural process; have basic knowledge of the humanities; be able to search for and analyze the necessary literature; use modern information resources and technologies for educational purposes; effectively organize their work and time; have basic skills in analytical work with literature; prepare oral and written reports and presentations; interact with colleagues in solving collective tasks.
Course content
The discipline "Philosophy" is included in the list of mandatory disciplines and is taught in the first semester of the 3rd year of the Bachelor's degree. The educational discipline introduces students to the main historical periods and patterns of the development of philosophy, the main philosophical problems and concepts, as well as the main modern and classical philosophical disciplines. The purpose of the discipline is to form a system of clear basic ideas about philosophy as a special intellectual phenomenon of world culture. Development of critical thinking skills for the analysis and solution of specialized problems in the field of philology (linguistics, literary studies, folklore studies).

Assessment methods and criteria
The course ends with а written exam. The exam card consists of 2 questions, each of which is assessed on a scale of 20 points, which in total gives 40 points for the exam. A student is not allowed to take the exam if he scored less than 20 points during the semester. To receive an overall positive grade for the discipline, the exam score cannot be less than 24 points. In the event that a student scores less than 24 points on the exam, they are not added to the semester grade (regardless of the number of points received during the academic period). (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) is made up of the sum of the number of points for the semester (min 36, max 60 points) and the examination work (min 24, max 40 points)
