Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Work effectively with information: select the necessary information from various sources, in particular from professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it.
PLO 5. Cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc.
PLO 8. Know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of speech, the history of English and two Western European languages and literatures being studied, and be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PLO 13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and English-language fiction and oral folk art, determine their specifics and place in the literary process.
PLO 15. Carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of previous courses of the complex discipline "History of Foreign Literature" (Parts 1-6).
2. Knowledge of the stages of the literary process, understanding the uniqueness of each individual period of the development of foreign literature.
3. Ability to operate with the basic terminology and conceptual apparatus of literary studies.
3. Possession of the skills of literary analysis, skills of reasoned interpretation of a literary text.
Course content
The academic discipline is a mandatory discipline and at the same time a component of the complex discipline "History of Foreign Literature" for students of the specialty 035 Philology. It is taught in the 7th semester of the 4th year of study. The volume of the discipline is 2 credits ECTS. 30 hours encompases lectures -14 hours, seminar classes - 16 hours, individual work - 30 hours. Exam is the form of final assessment. The subject of the academic discipline includes artistic phenomena that characterize the specifics of the literature of Great Britain, the USA, etc. of the 2nd half of the 20th - early 21st centuries. Students master a cluster of new terms and concepts that are related to the specifics of the genre system of Anglophone literature of this period, its problem-thematic spectrum, and poetic features.

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Evaluation of answers in seminar classes is carried out at the end of each seminar class.
2. Final test work is carried out after studying all 6 topics of the course, with
the use of Internet technologies (google classroom).
The assessment during the seminar and laboratory classes is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of control described in clause 7.1.
Students who have scored a total of less points than the critical-calculated minimum - 36 points, are not allowed to take the exam. The maximum score for additional forms of assessment cannot exceed 40% of the maximum total amount of points for the semester - 24
points. The semester final grade is formed by the points received by the student during the semester (semesters - if 2 parts), and the points received in the exam, the maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam).
