Learning outcomes
PLO 8. Know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of speech, the history of English and two Western European languages and literatures being studied, and be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PLO 10. Know the norms of literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities.
PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state and English languages and two Western European languages.
PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction and characterize the linguistic phenomena and processes that determine them.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The program is aimed at students, who have studied English for at least 2 years and acquired B2-C1 level according to the CEFR. The students should have appropriate communicative competencies in the situations of everyday communication.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is further improvement of communicative skills in terms of monologue and dialogue and development of sociocultural competency. The course is aimed at combining various communicative competencies as well as enhancement of listening and video comprehension via communication. The discipline involves practical classes and individual work of the students during the term.

Assessment methods and criteria
The students’ assessment during the term is the sum total of the points for their oral activity during the classes, creative tasks, module tests and individual performance. The minimum score for the term is 36 and the maximum score is 60 points respectively. Thus, the minimum score for the examination is 24, while the maximum is 40 points. Final term assessment is the exam.
