Learning outcomes
PLO 3 Organize the process of learning and self-education. PLO 12 Analyze language units, determine their interaction and characterize language phenomena and processes that determine them. PLO 21.1 Know the leading current trends in the functioning of language in the mass media and establish the role of mass media in the dynamics of language and social processes. PLO 21.2 Carry out communicative activity as the implementation of language functions in various social spheres (genre-style differentiation of language). PLO 21.3 Possess professional skills and abilities necessary to create oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the Ukrainian language.

Successful mastery of the academic disciplines "Introduction to Linguistics", "Modern Ukrainian Language. Lexicology. Phraseology", "Modern Ukrainian Language. Phonetics. Phonology", "Modern Ukrainian Language. Morphology. Word Formation", "Modern Ukrainian Language. Paradigmology", "Linguistic Terminology".
Course content
The reasons for the isolation of media linguistics as an independent field of knowledge are studied, as well as approaches to the professional analysis of the functional resource of media language, which is determined by the set of extra- and intralingual factors, the correspondence of the communicative tasks of society and the system of functional-stylistic language units that correlate with these tasks.

Assessment methods and criteria
Scientific reports, practical tasks, and open-ended questions included in the relevant content parts are evaluated. During the semester the student is expected to receive 60 points, and for the exam - 40 points.
A student is not allowed to take the exam if he/she has scored less than 36 points (60%) during the semester. If a student scores less than 24 points on the exam (60% of the 40 points allocated for the exam), they are not added to the semester grade, regardless of the number of points received during the semester, and the national scale is marked "unsatisfactory".
