            Learning outcomes
        
        
            Graduates are expected to be well-versed in the following: Scientific and professional terminology in the specialty "Telecommunications and radio engineering"; Basic methods of writing annotations to scientific texts in the relevant professional field; Basic methods of writing project works, making presentations and reports in English. Development of certain skills is also foreseen: Presentational prowess on the subject of information technologies, electronics and telecommunications at scientific conferences or seminars; Formatting  scientific reports, summarize scientific information in a foreign language; Working as a team, while communicating in a foreign language; To structure and back up one's point of view on a problem in both written and spoken forms. At the same time, developing positive character traits in graduates is also an important goal: Demonstration of authority, innovativeness, independence in professional and scientific activities;

            Course content
        
        
            "Academic English" is a compulsory subject. It brings professional development, critical thinking and efficiency in defending one's own scientific texts, reports, and articles done in a foreign language. Educational orientation of the discipline is determined by studied material and topics, the content of which takes into account the specifics of graduate’s training. The course consists of 2 parts, which involves both classroom and independent work. Training takes place using innovative methods and organizational methods, including project and Web-quest methods, brainstorming, interactive and didactic games and flipped learning.

            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            During the 1st semester, evaluation is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of control. The semester evaluation forms the intermediate control score. The points obtained by the discipline are transferred in the percentage equivalent (50% of the obtained points - from the maximum number of 100 points - 50 points) to the formation of the total point for the semester of the next part. There is no final exam. During the II semester, evaluation is carried out in accordance with the types of work and forms of control. The points obtained for the second content module are given as a percentage equivalent (50% of the obtained points - a maximum of 50 points). Students who scored the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "enrolled". Students who did not score the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "not enrolled".
