The educational task of the discipline "Architecture of computer systems" is familiarization with the basics and trends in the development of the theory and practice of the modern organization of computing machines and systems, classification and their main characteristics. In addition, the purpose of the course is to study the features of the architecture of modern computer systems, processors, computer peripherals and their interaction, to understand the main development trends and fundamental principles of the functioning of computer systems. The study of the discipline provides the ability to use elements of modern hardware of information and communication systems, to implement measures to prevent unauthorized access to computer system resources, to solve the problems of regular functioning of computer systems using backup procedures, to acquire the ability to evaluate the technical characteristics of a computer system for the purpose of diagnostics and modernization.

The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of assimilation of material from all topics of substantive modules, namely, the student's successful performance of laboratory and practical work, and writing modular test papers on substantive modules and the final test paper. The condition for receiving a positive final grade for a discipline is to achieve at least 60% of the maximum possible number of points, while the grade based on the results of the "skill" training cannot be less than 50% of the maximum level. Upon receiving the resulting final number of points from 60 and above, the student is assigned a credit.
During the semester, laboratory and practical work reports are defended, after the completion of the relevant topics, written control papers with test and open questions MK1, MK2 and PMK are conducted.
