To know: principles of classification of oil and gas deposits, reserves and resources; stages and stages of the geological exploration process for oil and gas; methods of geological exploration for oil and gas; geological prerequisites for geophysical work for oil and gas; characteristics of geophysical methods for oil and gas; principles of combining geophysical methods for oil and gas. To form a set of geophysical methods according to the stage, stage of exploration. Form a technological complex of geophysical methods for a specific geological object. Carry out a preliminary assessment of the oil and gas prospects of a geological object based on geological and geophysical data. Be able to organise systematic work to effectively solve the task. Understand personal responsibility for professional decisions that may provide information about the geological environment.

1. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of geophysical methods. 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry. 3. Possess basic skills in working with a personal computer.

The programme focuses on the basic methodological foundations and methods of the oil and gas exploration process, as well as the peculiarities of the oil and gas exploration stages.

Lectures, practical work of applicants.

The control is carried out according to the module-rating system and includes: 5 practical and 2 written module tests. The form of general control is a test.
