To know the basic theoretical principles and practical methods of prospecting and exploration of hydrocarbon deposits; modern methods and techniques of geophysical, geochemical, lithological and complex research in oil and gas geology. Be able to correctly determine the necessary analytical, laboratory parameters and check their reliability; make sound generalizations and conclusions. Independently determine the sequence and priority of scientific research in the real geological situation and features of the geological structure of the region. On the example of a master's thesis to prove the ability to set a real goal of research, to choose the subject, object and tasks, to choose the best methods and techniques that will fully reveal chosen topic, its scientific and practical significance.

Knowledge of the general geological cycle disciplines, disciplines geology oil and gas, as well as the basics of economical geology

Choice of master's thesis topics in the context of factual material and topical areas of oil and gas geology. Collection, processing of published and stock materials, identification of issues that require additional research, determining the purpose of their own research and formulating tasks for its implementation. Choice of methods of laboratory researches and sequence of their carrying out. Drawing up an extended plan for the preparation of a master's thesis. Preparation of a report on practice.

Practical training, Independent work of students
