P02. Know and understand the main types of geographical activities, their division in general and in particular in the field of transboundary ecological cooperation. P06. Use information technologies, cartographic and geoinformation models in studying the landscape structure of the territory, implementing complex ecological projects. P07. Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the landscape shell and its components. P08. Apply models, methods of physics, chemistry, geology, ecology, mathematics, information technologies, etc. in studying natural and social processes of formation and development of landscapes and their components.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Educational practice on processing methods of geographic information", "Geographic information systems", "Geographic information technologies". 2. Know the main properties of raster geospatial data, geophysical and optical properties of landscape components. 3. Be able to give a comprehensive physical and geographical description of the territory, carry out the selection and critical analysis of informational and cartographic data data sources. 4. To know modern quantitative and qualitative methods of geographical research, to be able to use them apply in production and research activities; be able to model objects and processes using modern quantitative and qualitative methods and geo-information technologies.
Course content
This academic discipline is dedicated to the study of the basic theoretical and methodological principles of remote sensing and the applied aspects of the application of remote methods to the study of landscapes, their components, assessment of the ecological state and expert forecasting of their changes. The discipline is aimed at developing in students the skills of searching, critical evaluation, preparation, organization and analysis of remote sensing data in order to solve theoretical and methodological and applied problems in the field of natural geography. The functional block of the discipline provides for familiarization with the main types and sources of remote sensing data, work with Landsat and Sentinel remote sensing data, their derivatives, software and algorithms used in modern practice of remote sensing data processing.
