Learning outcomes
PR01. Apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the study of natural and socio-territorial systems at different levels of spatial organization.
PR04. Conduct research and/or conduct innovative activities in order to obtain new knowledge, develop new methods and procedures in geography and interdisciplinary contexts.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To successfully master the knowledge of the discipline, students must have:
- knowledge of the theoretical and methodological foundations of social geography, methods of urban research. Successful mastery of the discipline "Theory of Spatial Organization" and "Management of Urban and Regional Development";
- the ability to analyze the essence, factors, identify and assess the consequences of economic, socio-demographic and environmental problems in regions, cities;
- mastery of quantitative (analysis and synthesis, statistical, comparative-geographic, cartographic, correlation and cluster analysis, grouping, typification, etc.) and qualitative (survey, interview) methods of research of cities and regions.
Course content
The academic discipline is dedicated to the study of economic, social and environmental problems of the development of cities and regions in Ukraine in the context of the tasks of post-war reconstruction and the formation of skills in scientific and research activities regarding the definition of conceptual approaches and methods of analyzing the development of cities and regions.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Seminar classes, scientific discussion, solving situational problems.
Assessment methods and criteria
The discipline consists of two substantive parts, each of which ends with a thematic control work and provides for a final control in the form
offset. Current control of the discipline is carried out during seminar classes and aims to check the level of knowledge assimilation and the student's readiness to independently perform individual tasks in the discipline. According to the evaluations of the current control and the results of the thematic control works, the sum of points is set for a separate content part. Students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum (40 points) for both substantive parts must complete an additional independent task in order to be admitted to the credit. Final (semester) control of students' knowledge of the discipline - credit.
The maximum number of points based on the results of the assessment is 20 points.
