PО9. To carry out a professional assessment of programs, strategies and plans for the development of territories, to carry out their socio-economic examination and monitoring
PО11. Assess possible risks, socio-economic consequences of the implementation of management decisions in the field of urban and regional development

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of social geography; economic geography; methods of urban research; urban planning; sociology; sustainable development of cities and regions;
2. Possess elementary skills of spatial analysis, methods of system analysis, and methods of planning territories of cities and regions.
Course content
The discipline is devoted to the study of theoretical and applied aspects of urban and regional development management, modern methods and approaches to managing the main areas at the level of cities and regions; issues of strategic management of urban and regional development; experience of developed countries in urban and regional management; current state and problems of implementing management decisions at the level of cities and regions of Ukraine.
The course includes 2 substantive parts.
Part 1 "Urban Development Management" contains the following topics:
Theoretical foundations of urban development management: principles, tasks and functions
Modern methods of managing urban areas. Organizational system of city management
Management of city labor resources
Social infrastructure as an object of city management
Management of city material and financial resources
Strategic management of city development
Features of urban development management in foreign countries
Part 2 "Regional development management" contains topics:
Theoretical principles of regional development management
Foreign experience of regional development management
Regional strategies as a tool for managing the development of regions of Ukraine
Regional policy and regional development management in Ukraine
Regional marketing
Regional infrastructure management
Controlling in the regional management system

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminar classes, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 substantive parts. The discipline ends with an exam.
During the semester, after the completion of the relevant content modules, modular control tests are conducted in written form. The maximum number of points awarded for the 1st and 2nd substantive modules is 30 points.
The discipline ends with a written exam. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points that are added to the semester ones is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam).
Students who scored a total of less than the critical calculation minimum - 20 points are not allowed to take the exam. The recommended minimum for admission to the exam is 36 points.
