            1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Higher mathematics", "Topography with the basics of geodesy", "Soil science".
2. To be able to analyze the peculiarities of natural and anthropogenic processes in geographical envelopes, to carry out a comprehensive assessment of the state of geocomponents and to forecast the changes occurring in them.

            Course content

The discipline consists of two content modules. The first one analyzes the essence of the concepts of modeling and natural-geographical modeling, stages of modeling, classification of natural-geographical models, the concept of system, types and evolution of systems, conceptual foundations of system analysis and modeling. The second substantive module examines the concept of a map as a two-dimensional model, the basics of geoinformation modeling, its directions and features of approbation, features of thematic modeling in soil science, modeling of pedogenic processes, soil evolution. Approaches to soil cover modeling by means of GIS are analyzed.
