Learning outcomes
The main program results according to the description of the educational and professional program are: − collect, process and analyze information in the field of Earth sciences (PR01); − determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the Earth as a planetary system and its geospheres (PR06); − apply models, methods and data of physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, mathematics, information technologies, etc. in the study of natural and social processes and phenomena of the formation and development of geospheres (PR07); − justify the choice and use of field and laboratory methods for the analysis of natural and anthropogenic systems and objects (PR08); − analyze the composition and structure of the geosphere (in accordance with specialization) at different spatial and temporal scale levels (PR10).

Successful study of academic disciplines of a professional-oriented direction (in particular, topographic and geodetic and photogrammetric).
Course content
A 2nd year coursework is a creative independent work of a student in a specific discipline or a number of topographic, geodetic and photogrammetric disciplines that were studied in the 1st year and are studied during the 2nd year.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The approximate order of the defense is as follows: - a student's report on the topic outlining the main provisions of the work; - answers to questions; - a speech by the supervisor and the official reviewer (feedback is submitted in writing on the eve of the defense); - a speech by members of the department's commission, present employees and students; - a closing statement by the student, in which he responds to the speech of the reviewer and other persons, motivating his agreement or disagreement with the critical remarks made. The report, designed for 5–7 minutes, must be carefully prepared. It is recommended to think carefully and write your speech.
Assessment methods and criteria
Coursework is graded on a four-point national scale, corresponding to a 100-point scale and ECTS assessment at a closed committee meeting.
