Course content
The educational discipline "Genetic Monitoring" is a component of the educational and professional program for training specialists at the educational and qualification level "Bachelor". The discipline is a free choice of the student (choice in blocks) in the specialization "Genetics". The discipline "Genetic Monitoring" is a basic biological discipline that concerns methods for assessing the appearance and accumulation of genotoxic substances in the environment, namely, the study of the spectrum of their mutational effects and the ability to induce certain genetic disorders. The discipline is designed to generalize the idea of various systems for assessing risks associated with environmental pollution, as well as determining the genetic burden in populations of living organisms. The discipline aims to familiarize students with basic methods of biological diagnostics of environmental objects and the basic principles of organizing genetic monitoring and its significance for assessing genetic risks for humans.
